My Role | Web UX Designer

  • Facilitated collaboration within a team of UX Designers, Visual Designers, User Researchers, and Product Team

  • Worked with user researchers in generating user personas and creating insights around the users' business context

  • Performed competitive SWOT analysis 

  • Contributed to observational research, focus group sessions, concept testing and rapid iterative testing and evaluation

  • Produced detailed design documentation and easy to read screen flow diagrams

Overview 

At the heart of MINDBODY's complex system, and its top-used feature is a robust Point of Sale (POS) that allows fitness studios, gyms, salons, and wellness practitioners to sell goods and services to their customers. Despite being the most relied-upon feature, the POS was the single most significant source of negative user feedback. 

What We Did

Our team of over 15 highly-specialized UX-ers created a thoroughly user-validated North Star Vision to keep the back-end, iOS, Android, and web development teams moving synchronously throughout the POS redesign. Our team generated a mobile-first, adaptive design with hundreds of states and a 100% usability test passing rate on 20 most common use-case scenarios.

This initial, cross-platform vision has been the foundation for numerous step-wise improvements and is still being used to inform design today, over 4 years later.
